And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Luke 22:19.
What is the desired outcome (remembrance) of keeping this command?
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20.
The fellowship of the saints is not simply a commitment to the memory of Jesus Christ, but to the experience of His presence. The coming together of the saints is to experience the power of the Holy Spirit. For the word and work of God to manifest is not in man’s ability ‘when they put their heads together’, but from the Lord who binds their hearts in One Spirit.
Christ Our Cornerstone
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:22.
The word and work of Jesus Christ is in heaven as it is on earth.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Vs. 5&6.

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10.
We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says:
“In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6.
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42.
Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18:18.
